Chamber ensemble re: mix that has rocked the scene with innovative and daring programmes since its début in 2006 presents yet another featuring British composer Michael Nyman’s throbbing and highly attractive “In Re Don Giovanni” which deconstructs a theme from Mozart’s opera about the legendary lover, Fritz Kreisler’s virtuosic yet charming take on Paganini’s fiendishly difficult Violin Concerto No. 1 that condenses every single technical trick in violin playing into 20 minutes, and a sizzling reworking of classical music’s most famous work, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, by one of Singapore’s most well-known composers and arrangers, Iskandar Ismail, in a Latin American style!
